When Fabuwood Does Grey

When it comes to kitchens the color grey is hitting its mark as the new color of choice. It’s standing up and taking its place of honor with white and ivory as The new classic neutral. Grey, like white, is Modern, Traditional, Contemporary and more. When grey is done by Fabuwood it’s done right. Grey has already been the choice for a vast number of new kitchens. And the Fabuwood grey cabinetry certainly will be for many more.

Warmer than a white kitchen and not quite as brave as black, gray cabinets softly impart a sophistication or elegance depending on the accessories. Part of what makes grey a popular color for cabinets is color psychology. Grey has always been thought of as a dull, drab and rather depressing hue. Not what you’d want in your kitchen, right? Face it, it can be the color of dust. But in the kitchen, when accented by the right colors it’s anything but drab and the psychological aspect turns far more positive.

Fabuwood’s nickel and slate grey cabinets, while striking in their own right, accent the other elements in the kitchen design—the countertops, backsplash, etc. –and makes the kitchen exciting. These grey kitchen cabinets simultaneously also add an unmistakable air of unmitigated style and luxury. It at once imparts a feeling of deep relaxation and yet excitement by the contrasting colors in the room.

Although grey can be paired with any color there’s no better accent color than basic black. Black can be a little overwhelming with many cabinet colors, but grey holds its own. Think black stainless appliances, black cabinet hardware, and black marble but balance it with stainless or nickel faucets and lighting.

The recipe for a classic Traditional look pairs Slate with black marble and stainless for a monotone look or either black or black stainless for contrast. Add crystal, white subway tile and either chrome or nickel fixtures and stir. For a Contemporary kitchen begin with Nickel cabinetry and add a heaping helping of gleaming stainless steel, a dash of chrome globe lighting, fixtures and cabinet hardware then blend.

Fabuwood's Slate grey is smooth and silky while Nickel has a bit of visual texture with a linen feel-- It’s the quintessential grey for Contemporary and Transitional style kitchens. It’s the perfect neutral in color and style, like the perfect dress or shoes it can be worn anywhere.

Going wall to wall grey is dramatic. While mixing grey cabinetry with that of a different color is the best of all possible worlds as in a sleek, ‘’clean’’ Contemporary kitchen. The stainless appliances reverberates the grey of the island.

Deep rich charcoal grey is the Fabuwood Cobblestone in a Transitional style kitchen. Contemporary, but warmer, richer, deeper, Cobblestone by Fabuwood is the flipside of Nickel and Slate. A mix of grey and white for the counters and backsplash and stainless appliances and hardware is the perfect compliment.

Light and smooth, deep and rich, or with visual texture grey is smart, stylish, elegant, edgy, and here to stay. No one does it better than Fabuwood Cabinets.
